Mr. Sergio A. Pombo, currently serving as Senior Advisor, Government Relations and Public Funding of SolarWindow Technologies, is a Member of the Center for Study of the US Presidency and Congress, serves on the Board of several global private equity funds, and is co-founder of Berkana Private Equity, which invests in clean energy and energy efficiency projects in Latin America on behalf of institutional investors and family offices.
Mr. Pombo founded and served as Head of the private equity practice at the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the largest climatic fund for emerging markets. GCF secured an initial $3 billion capital commitment from the United States Government, and has grown to $20 billion and includes more than 43 investor-nations.
Previously, Mr. Pombo helped established the Global Private Equity group at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC), as Senior Investment Officer of Private Equity and Investment Funds. During his 17-year tenure, the IFC Funds’ portfolio grew from inception to over $7 billion. Mr. Pombo has also served as Principal Manager of Financial Policy and Strategic Planning for the European Bank in London.
